Cape Elizabeth voters have validated the $19.3 million school budget adopted by the Town Council on April 30, 2009.

Unofficial results Tuesday, May 12, 2009 show the budget passing 1,348 votes to 952. In an advisory question, 988 voters said they thought the budget was too high; 616 said they thought it too low; and 640 said they thought it was acceptable.

The budget, combined with approved 2009-10 budgets for municipal, county and Community Services, will add 11 cents to the town tax rate of $17.44 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, an increase of .6 percent. Click here to download overall budget summary and tax impact adopted April 30, 2009
