Schools seek feedback on proposal to replace 2013 February, April vacations with one vacation in March

The School Department has drafted two school calendar proposals for 2012-2013 and is looking for feedback.

Draft A proposes a March vacation rather than vacations in both February and April to provide longer stretches of educational continuity. The proposed vacation begins Wednesday, March 6, 2013 and ends Friday, March 15.

Draft B is a schedule comparable to this year's. February vacation would begin with Presidents Day Feb. 18, 2013 and end Friday, Feb. 22. The April vacation would start on Friday, April 12, 2013 and end Friday, April 19.
