Cape Elizabeth High School Theater has announced this year's one-act production, "The Birds", will open on March 2, 2010, 7:30 p.m. in the High School auditorium. (please note corrected time)

"The Birds" was written by the ancient Greek playwrite Aristophanes, from 450 BC. "The show, a satire of human foibles, is great fun with elegant staging. It is Cape Theatre at its best!," said director Richard Mullen.

Each year the school produces a one-act play for regional and state-wide One Act Festival competition.

Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. Performances are also scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, March 3 and 4; and March 16 and 17, also at 7:30 p.m.

The show is appropriate for all audiences and runs under an hour.
