Family Fun Day committee invites boosters to participate in 2010 event

Planning for this year's Family Fun Day, set for June 12, is underway.

Family Fun Day, an annual June tradition held at Fort Williams Park, serves two purposes:

  • To bring the community together for a great day at one of the most beautiful spots in the world;
  • and, to provide an opportunity for local non-profit groups and crafts people to raise funds.

The Family Fun Day committee volunteers are inviting booster clubs to join the Lion’s Club, the Rotary Club, the Chess Club, the Youth Football Boosters and various other church and civic groups at Cape Elizabeth's 2010 Family Fun Day.

Family Fun Day activities include a parade, balloon rides, a climbing wall, "Fun in the Foam", local bands, a talent show, various kids games and lots of food.

Booster clubs can join in the fun and raise money at the same time by running games of their own or selling food. "The committee works hard to make sure that there is a variety of food so that you don’t need to worry about someone selling the same thing you are," said organizer Steve Culver. "It is easy to reserve your space," he said.
