School Board budget workshop available for view on Web site
The School Department has put new Web server technologies to work this week with its first full-length podcast of a School Board meeting.
The video can be seen by clicking here. The video is of the Feb. 12, 2009 School Board budget workshop, held in the High School library. (Quicktime plugin is required).
The video was recorded by Chris Hayden, who also substitute teaches at the schools. It was processed and posted to the schools' Web server by technician Jason Lund.
At this time, the public comment feature of the blog server is not yet operational. Future plans include activating the comment feature to serve as a weblog, or "blog", for the superintendent's office.
The new server was purchased last year with technology lease funds approved in the 2008-09 budget.
Plans are to record and present podcasts of the next School Board budget workshop, scheduled for Feb. 24, 2009, 7 p.m. at the High School library; and a third workshop, if necessary, Feb. 26. Each video will take about five working days following recording to be processed for podcasting.
CETV, Cape Elizabeth's public access Channel 3, also plans to present the recorded versions of the workshops. Dates and times will be posted on the CETV program guide, and on Channel 3. |
