John McCain, hopeful for the Republican nomination for president, won a narrow majority of votes -- 657 votes to 621 -- in Cape Elizabeth in the Presidential Preference Primary.

Among Cape Democrats, former New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley made a better showing than Vice President Al Gore, taking 480 votes compared with Gore's 352.

A total of 2,168 Cape voters participated in the "Super Tuesday" primary, for a turnout of 29.57 percent.
